About Us

Welcome to Our Site!

My name is Andrea, I have lived in the community for 15+ years, my children attended Christancy Elementary, Cantrick Middle School and Monroe High. I have always contributed to the community in any way I can. I have been PTA mom, Brownie leader and Soccer coach! My family and I spend time volunteering and fundraising for local shelters, so chances are you already know me or know of someone who does. You may have even seen me walking my own dogs, this is truly my favorite pastime.
When my children were young I worked as a realtor in the Monroe area and when they got older and didn’t need me at home as much I decided to follow my heart and do what I do best, caring for animals!

I worked at the Humane Society for a number of years where I started out cleaning cages and feeding the animals. I loved working with the animals so much and was always thirsting to learn more. I worked at the Humane Society for a number of years where I started out cleaning cages and feeding the animals. I loved working with the animals so much and was always thirsting to learn more about their health and well being. I quickly worked my way up to Assistant Manager. My duties were plentiful and often included caring for sick and injured animals or bottle feeding pets with no mother. I have a lot of hands on experience giving pets the proper care they need, whether it be grooming, changing bandages, administering meds, giving injections or simply giving them the exercise and TLC they so badly needed. I have attended many seminars on canine behavior and never stop reading about dog psychology. I love working with dogs so much I have decided to make a career out of it. Whatever your pet needs are I will take care of them for you in a gentle loving way, with calm assertive energy.

I have been working with dogs for many years, 5 of which I spent Training shelter dogs with issues so they could become well behaved adoptable dogs and find happy loving homes! I have fostered numerous (too many to count) dogs/puppies whom I have housebroken, taught basic obedience, and how to walk on a leash while they waited to be adopted. I also worked at a doggy daycare where I was in charge of supervising a whole pack of dogs. I loved to walk the 3 acre playground with them it was a great way to establish leadership with the dogs. I can’t tell you what an awesome feeling it is to be the pack leader in a pack of dogs! I am also a VERY BIG fan of the Dog Whisperer. I have read all of his books and seen all of his television shows, and truly believe in his way of working with dogs.

I have 4 dogs of my own, one of which is a VERY HIGH energy English Setter who is deaf. I have trained him using hand signals and my other dogs. When I first brought him home he had some serious issues. He was afraid of everything, the Ceiling fan, the TV, the Kitchen Floor, he was even afraid of the Crock pot! He was constantly getting into and destroying things, he would even pick fights with my other dogs and often messed in the house if I didn’t crate him while I was away. And when I did crate him he barked uncontrollably! Would you believe with just some basic obedience and daily walks he no longer has these issues and is a wonderful loving companion.

Because I know how much you care about your pets, I promise to always take care of them with kindness and compassionate attention. I promise to offer you the peace of mind that comes from knowing that we will always take care of your beloved companions as if they were our own. So weather you are away on vacation, business or just working long hours you can rest assure that Happy Tails will provide professional care and companionship for your pet. RELAX…and DON”T WORRY your pet is in good hands…I Promise
